Can Big Data save the GDP from becoming outdated?

The digital revolution is accelerating automated processes and will most likely dampen the majority of the driving forces raising the GDP, namely, by reducing the number of working employees, decreasing the demand for skills and shrinking the availability of capital stock. Is the GDP still the right parameter to assess the performance or the economic and social well-being of a country?
